The case for a quieter browser
Most of what a browser draws is not the web. What happens when you take it away?
A browser has one job: get out of the way of the page. Somewhere along the line it picked up toolbars, banners, badges and a second row of tabs that never stops growing.
Strip those back and the page gets room to breathe. Tabs go to the side, where titles fit. The address bar shrinks into a pill. Everything else lives behind one shortcut.
The result feels less like software and more like paper.
